About The Andover Shield

The Shield is Andover High School’s award-winning newspaper.  All key positions and tasks are managed by students with guidance from Christina Hammitt, the newspaper advisor.  This publication is distributed throughout the school year in print and online, both free of charge.  Staff members write articles on a diverse range of topics, including student profiles, sports events, fine arts, as well as a wide range of local, national, and international subjects.   Students are actively encouraged to join the staff, become a guest writer, or submit letters to the editor.  The Andover Shield… “We’ll give you something to talk about.”
